THE JOURNEY
Our train will start at Newcastle, calling at Chester-le-Street, Durham, Darlington, Northallerton and York then travel direct to Chester.

(A free connecting coach is available from Bishop Auckland to Darlington - must be prebooked)

The outward journey will take us south, through Yorkshire to Sheffield where we join the picturesque Hope Valley Line in the heart of the Peak District, then travelling via Manchester and Warrington we arrive in Chester around Lunchtime where we enjoy the afternoon exploring this beautiful, historic city.

Our return journey takes us along the Mid-Cheshire Line which passes through the beautiful and scenic mid-Cheshire countryside.

THE TRAIN
You will travel on a British icon, the world famous, InterCity 125 High Speed Train.  
 
The train will have both First and Standard class seating, a buffet car will be open during the journey for hot and cold snacks.

1st class passengers will enjoy an at seat service of complimentary non-alcoholic drinks and snacks.

Please feel free to bring your own refreshments for your journey.

ABOUT CHESTER
The ancient city is a truly breath-taking experience. Each chapter of Chester's history is etched into the very fabric of the city. Well, you are walking where Roman Legionnaires marched to war, Viking raiders wreaked havoc and Norman invaders conquered Anglo Saxons.

There is plenty to do in Chester - walk the walls and the Rows (historic two-tiered shopping galleries) and enjoy the magnificent architecture of the City, browse the shops from large chain stores to smaller independent retailers.

Chester has the most complete city walls, the oldest racecourse and the largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain, plus a 1000 year old Cathedral with Europe's finest example of medieval carvings - and of course the one and only 700 year old Rows galleries where shopping is a double delight.

Relax and rest in one of the many restaurants, cafes and bars. Then stroll through Grosvenor Park amid the floral displays to the Groves and the River Dee where you can hire a rowing boat or take a trip on the pleasure craft up the Dee. Did you know you can also catch a miniature train in the park? A novel way to amuse the family.

 We are sorry but pets and bicycles are not accommodated.

 Smoking and vaping are not permitted in any part of the train, nor on

 railway stations or connecting coaches.

 We cannot accept unaccompanied minors onboard – all under 16’s must

 be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult (18+)
