ITINERARY
Day 1 – Edinburgh to Spean Bridge
Your journey begins at Edinburgh Waverley, where you are welcomed aboard with afternoon tea as the Royal Scotsman heads west through Falkirk toward Craigendoran, gateway to the famed West Highland Line.
Look for the first glimmer of Loch Lomond, followed by the dramatic ascent through Glen Falloch, rich with tumbling waterfalls.
Arrive in Spean Bridge for an evening of relaxed dining and live entertainment in the elegant Observation Car.
Day 2 – Glenfinnan, Morar Sands & Fort William
Wake to the sight of Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest peak, dominating the Highland skyline.
Disembark at Arisaig for a peaceful walk along the silver-white Morar Sands, where the views stretch across the Sound of Sleat to the striking Cuillin Mountains of the Isle of Skye.
After a scenic lunch on board, choose between:
- A guided visit to the Glenfinnan Monument, where your local guide brings Jacobite history vividly to life
- A guided walk through Spean Glen past the ruins of High Bridge and along the River Spean, ideal for active guests
Rejoin the train in Fort William and relax as you travel south toward Bridge of Orchy.

Day 3 – Isle of Bute & Mount Stuart

Day 4 – Return to Edinburgh
